What's New and Different in Feeds.App 3
- MT 4 support in addition to MT 3.3
- Easier installation and upgrades. NO compiled modules are required.
- Fetching feeds has been simplified and integrated with the built-in Task Manager introduced in MT 3.31.
- Atom 1.0 support to the core --literally. Feeds.App will also read in Atom 0.3 and all forms of RSS.
- Feeds lists and options can be set from the MT interface in addition to the template tags.
- Conditionally format new and updated entries.
- Integration of the Feeds Widget creator that was introduced with the release of Feeds.App Lite.
- Broader support of different XML parsers including a built-in option the does not require compilation.
- Feeds are now cached in the database instead of the file system.
- Documentation is online and searchable.
- Experimental support of merged feeds output.
New Tags
There are a lot of new tags in Feeds.App v3. In fact, there are more new tags then there are old and deprecated tags. This stems from the plugins full support of Atom 1.0 including some renaming of tags to use the Atom format terminology and the additional of other tags to make working with syndicated content faster and easier.
